SciFinder® Scholar is a licensed software application that provides tools for searching the Chemical Abstracts database from 1907 to the present, including the CAS registry and patents. It supports searching by chemical structures or biological sequences (CAS and GenBank), by substructures and reactions, and by topic, author, company, and substance name. The CAS registry "...is the largest and most current database of chemical substance information in the world, containing more than 32 million organic and inorganic substances and 59 million sequences."
