The Children & Young Adult Books collection is located on the third floor in Room 313. It includes easy books, fiction, and nonfiction books. The collection supports classes in various academic departments.

State adopted K-12 textbooks are located in Room 409 of Warf-Pickel Hall (open Monday-Thursday, 9AM-4PM).

  1. How long is the loan period for juvenile books?
  2. The loan period is two weeks for all patron categories; renewals are possible if there are no holds.

  3. The online catalog shows that the book I want is not charged, but it is not on the shelf. What do I do?
  4. There are several reasons why a book is not on the shelf. Please report this to the Circulation Service Desk on the first floor so that they can search for it.

  5. Why don't you get rid of the older books and replace them with new ones?
  6. The materials in the juvenile book collection are used by different departments in different ways. For example, it would be impossible to follow trends in children's literature if the Sherrod Library did not have older, as well as newer, books.

  7. Can I suggest a book for inclusion in the collection?
  8. All faculty, administrators and students at ETSU are encouraged to participate in building the library's book collection. Forms are available at the Reference desk or online. Book purchases are contingent on the availability of funds.

  9. May my children use the room?
  10. Children are welcome in this room; however, young children should not be left alone in the room for their own safety.

  11. What are the hours for the juvenile room?
  12. The hours are the same as those posted for the main library.
